Surface-mount technology (SMT) is a method for constructing electronic circuits in which the components (SMC, or Surface Mounted Components) are mounted directly onto the surface of printed circuit board. Cocom has its own in house Surface Mount line for processing speedily and efficiently new designs. We have the latest Mydata Automation machines that place upto 10,000 parts per hour. The Mydata Machine tests each part for mechanical size and electrical properties before they are placed on the board. This way we can be sure the new design is as intended, with the right parts on the board.

Vapor phase soldering (VPS), also known as condensation soldering. VPS heats uniformly, and no part on the board (irrespective of its geometry) exceeds the fluid-boiling temperature. Cocom invested in VPS soldering , for building perfect 1st board thru to 500th board , with every board guaranteed the same. With today's very dense BGA (Ball grid arrays) having VPS has reduced our manufacturing RMA to near zero. We can also use VPS to rework boards without any mechanical damage.

DVB-T2 is an abbreviation for Digital Video Broadcasting - Second Generation Terrestrial; it is the upcoming extension of the existing standard DVB-T. Cocom has its own DVB-T2 stream generation and transmission test equipment. We have direct feeds from London Crystal Palace and Heathfield North DVB transmitters. We test according to the Nordig and DTG (freeview) specifications.

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transmitting digital data and audio ; video. Cocom has an extensive set of test tools to ensure conformance to the HDMI standard, including HDMI test receivers, CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) testing, and HDMI certification. We can also test Multi Track audio from Dolby Digital and DTS.

Cocom has an in-house environmental chamber ( temperature & humidity chamber ) for testing new designs against different temperatures and humidity. These tests give confidence to new product design to ensure that they can survive the "Real world".

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is the branch of electrical sciences which studies the unintentional generation, propagation and reception of electromagnetic energy with reference to the unwanted effects it produces. Cocom has its own in house EMC fully lined test chamber for testing new designs against electromagnetic phenomena. We test for Emission issues that are related to the unwanted generation of electromagnetic energy and susceptibility or immunity issues, for the correct operation of electrical equipment, referred to as the victim, in the presence of unplanned electromagnetic disturbances.
